The 2014 Stockholm Internet Forum held on 27 and 28 May, was the third organized by the Swedish Foreign Affairs Ministry lead by Carl Bildt. THis time subject was Internet Freedom for Development. Most of the 400 attendees were from civil society, although all sectors were represented. The attendance to the event was by invitation from the organizers and LACTLD was invited to participate. Most of the agenda was aimed to Internet surveillance aspects and the future of Internet governance. The forum was structured in 4 central panels, six optional panels and a new and innovative format of “un-conference” promoted by the attendees. On May 26, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) organized jointly with civil society Organizations an ICTs and democracy Day.
