LACTLD meeting was successfully held in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil. from May 26 to 29, at Fiesta Bahia Hotel.

In the first two days of the meeting, there were different presentations from the LACTLD members, starting with Jessica Calvo and Carlos Watson, from NIC Costa Rica who updated us about direct registrations under the .CR; Oscar Robles from NIC Mexico who presented the final recommendations from the .MX Advisory Council on anti-phishing activities; Fermín Uribe from NIC Chile presented an introduction to IPv6 under the .CL services; Gustavo Soliño and José Jarolín from .AR y .PY, respectively, presented the most relevant news in their Registries, and Eduardo Botero from the Colombian Ministry of Communications offered a complete presentation about the .CO Transfer roadmap.

Also, LACTLD welcomed the contribution of speakers like Erick Iriarte, from Alfa-Redi, who offered a deep analysis about the ccTLDs growth and trends; Tina Dam, Barbara Roseman and Pablo Hinojosa, all of them from the ICANN staff who updated the attendants with the main issues discussed in the ICANN structure that may impact the ccTLDs of the region; Raimundo Beca, ICANN Board Member, talked about the key strategies included in the Operational Plan published by ICANN; another speaker was Bill Woodcock from PCH, he explained the way their DNS cloud operates with Anycast; Fernando España spoke about NeuStar and Sebastian Bellagamba, ISOC Manager for the LAC Regional Bureau, confirmed the institutional support to LACTLD technical workshops.

The last day, the General Assembly approved the reports presented by the Board, ratified by unanimity the membership of .TT (Trinidad and Tobago) as the twenty first member and elected the new Fiscal Commission members: Rolando Toledo .PE, Jessica Calvo .CR, Margarita Valdés .CL, Carlos Ferro .CU and Dayerlín Gil .VE.

At the end of the General Assembly, the members of LACTLD elected the new board officers. In this process, the positions were defined as follows: Oscar Robles .MX as Chairman, Hartmut Glaser .BR as Treasurer, Edna Samudio .PA as Secretary and Victor Abboud .EC and Rafael Ibarra .SV both as substitutes.
